Council for Just transition: Clear Direction and Coordination for 2026

A meeting of the Council of Just transition was held today, whereas the Annual implementation plan for the Just Transition for 2026 was reviewed.

As emphasized at the meeting, the Plan for 2026 is a key document for guiding activities in the process of just transition and for fulfilling the obligations of the state within the Reform agenda and the Growth Plan, with the Ministry of energy, mining and mineral resources coordinating its finalization.

The focus of the discussion was placed on ensuring that the Plan is operational and implementation-oriented, with clearly defined activities and projects, responsible institutions, a timeline, necessary resources and a mechanism for monitoring progress.

Minister Bozhinovska highlighted that successful implementation in 2026 requires strong interinstitutional coordination, clear roles, and active involvement of all relevant institutions, with regular reporting on progress through the Council and the working groups”.

Following today’s discussion and alignment, the Plan will be prepared for further formal adoption, so that the state can enter 2026 with a clear direction, priorities and strengthened focus on implementation and results within the green transition.

Ministry of energy, mining and mineral resources
