Minister

Sanja Božinovska was born on 08.06.1980 in Skopje.

She graduated from the Faculty of Business Administration at the Anglo-American University in Prague, and completed a Master's degree in International Business at the University of Groningen, the Netherlands.

During her formal education, passed on by a group of strong names from the world of economics, Božinovska gained a strong foundation in the principles of planning and practicing management and business. Thanks to her strong academic foundation, Božinovska is equipped with a deep understanding of global business dynamics, which is essential for her work in the energy sector.

With more than a decade of experience in the energy industry, Sanja Božinovska is a pragmatic leader with proven experience in the field of energy resource management, sustainable energy reforms and cross-border cooperation in Europe and beyond.

Within her professional portfolio, Božinovska has led strategic initiatives with a focus on energy investments and regional cooperation within several multinational companies across Europe. Her business drive to optimize energy resources and foster sustainable solutions positions her as a leader in improving the energy stability of developing countries, with an emphasis on strategic planning and transition to renewable energy practices.

Since 2018, Božinovska has worked as an independent energy consultant, providing expertise to a wide range of stakeholders. Her extensive experience combined with academic knowledge have been key in addressing and navigating complex energy challenges, identifying growth opportunities, and promoting innovation in the sector.

Sanja Božinovska is a member of the Executive Committee of VMRO-DPMNE, a position from which she provides a key contribution to shaping energy and environmental policies, supporting initiatives that align economic development with environmental sustainability.

Starting in June 2024, Sanja Božinovska is the first Minister of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources in the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia.
