The Ministry of Energy is pleased to greet today’s official launch of the construction of the Shtip wind park, supported by a $500 million investment by „Alcazar Energy Partners“. With 55 windmills on an area of 326 hectares, with the capacity to supply around 100,000 households – the project is the largest regional investment in renewable energy sources in the Western Balkans.
The Ministry emphasizes that each investment like this one, confirms that our institutions are a stable and predictable investment partner, supported by a disciplined approach and a fair regulatory framework.
The minister of energy, in her video speech, addressed on the occasion of the launch of the project, emphasizing:
"This Government has placed energy as a pillar of development. And we will not stop until we transform Macedonia into a regional center for renewable energy. As Minister of Energy, I proudly support every step that leads to this goal. Investments in wind, sun, water are bridges to economic stability, green transition and new jobs for Macedonian citizens. This investment builds opportunities for young people, industrial capacities for the entire country and energy security for many households", Bozinovska emphasized.
The minister also expressed her gratitude to the international partners:
“Your trust in our institutions is proof that Macedonia is already seen as a stable and predictable country for long-term investments, a respected partner and host to investors who work by the rules and believe in the future of this country”.
From the Ministry’s perspective, this investment brings multiple benefits: clean and stable energy, reduced carbon emissions, lower electricity bills and the creation of around fifty new jobs during the construction phase and even more during operation. The Ministry of Energy remains committed to supporting similar projects and expects additional investment opportunities for green and innovative energy, which will bring long-term benefits to citizens, the economy and future generations.
