The Ministry of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources, led by Minister Sanja Bozhinovska, held a working meeting with representatives of the World Bank to explore financing opportunities and cooperation in the field of energy efficiency.
Discussions focused on potential World Bank funds to support energy reforms, the transition to renewable energy sources, and improvements in energy efficiency in the country.
The meeting also addressed the development and operationalization of the Energy Efficiency Fund, with the World Bank presenting experiences from other countries in the region. The fund will play a key role in financing and implementing energy efficiency projects, contributing to reduced energy consumption and environmental protection. Discussions included Component 3 of the Public Sector Energy Efficiency Project (PSEEP), aimed at supporting this initiative in North Macedonia.
Further collaboration opportunities with the World Bank in the energy sector were discussed, highlighting the Bank’s potential contribution to improving the overall process.
The Ministry remains committed to implementing energy reforms and will continue active cooperation with the World Bank to find effective solutions for strengthening the energy sector of the Republic of North Macedonia.
