Ministry of energy, mining and raw materials Ministry of energy, mining and raw materials

The Ministry of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources has established the Commission for Monitoring the Electricity Supply Situation, a key mechanism for oversight and rapid response in the event of potential crisis situations or disruptions in the energy system.

At its first meeting, the Commission laid the foundation for its work and adopted a plan for regular analysis of the domestic and regional energy market. The establishment of the Commission is an initiative of the Minister of Energy, Sanja Bozhinovska, aimed at strengthening energy security and timely response to emergencies, such as system failures or natural disasters.

This body will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating between all relevant institutions, energy companies, and experts;

  • Continuous monitoring of electricity supply;

  • Analyzing market conditions and potential risks;

  • Proposing concrete measures to prevent crisis scenarios.

“The establishment of this Commission is an example of proactivity in the energy sector. The goal is not just to react to crises, but to build a system that prevents them and ensures stability for citizens and the economy,” said Minister Bozhinovska.

The Commission will meet regularly to analyze conditions, and in declared crisis situations, meetings will be held daily. In addition to representatives from the Ministry, external experts will also be involved to ensure comprehensive and timely solutions.

The Ministry will keep the public informed of all recommendations and decisions of the Commission, as well as the specific steps that will be taken to enhance energy security.

With this initiative, North Macedonia positions itself as a responsible energy actor that proactively addresses the challenges of the modern energy environment.
