The delegation of the Ministry of energy, mining and mineral resources is participating at the significant global forum Boosting Country-Led Energy Transformations, which is being held in Cartagena, Colombia, aimed at promotion of innovative solutions for a clean and sustainable energy transition.
At the panel discussion within the forum, Elena Ivanovska, who represents the institution, stressed that Macedonia is committed to a just transition that will leave no one behind – workers, communities and local economies. She emphasized that government strategies and investments, supported by international partners such as the EBRD, IFC and the World Bank, provide new green jobs, modern energy solutions and economic diversification of the mining regions.
Ivanovska emphasized the importance of social inclusion, local development and support for vulnerable groups, including women and youth, as key elements of the process of accelerated transition from coal. She also presented the delegation's activity in discussions on the Clean Energy Learning Laboratory (CELL), a platform that enables knowledge exchange and access to innovative financing models.
At the official opening of the forum, the minister Sanja Bozhinovska sent a video addressing in which she emphasized Macedonia's readiness to be a regional leader in the just energy transition, emphasizing that the country has adopted all necessary investment and strategic measures to ensure an economically and socially just change without job losses. By participating in this conference, Macedonia confirms its commitment to a sustainable energy transition that puts people and communities at the center of the process.
