The minister of energy, mining and mineral resources, Sanja Bozhinovska held a working meeting at the Chevron Corporation Offices in Washington, aimed at advancing energy cooperation and ensuring stable and diversified supplies of oil and liquefied natural gas (LNG).
In addition to those physically present in Washington, leading representatives of the company from all around the world, including Beijing and Madrid joined the meeting online, confirming the seriousness and global importance that „Chevron“ puts to the potential cooperation with North Macedonia.
On behalf of „Chevron“, Brian Essner, general manager of “LNG Origination”, who has more than 25 years of experience in global energy projects as well as Lem Smith, vice-president for international government relations and Steve Keil, senior manager for international government relations participated at the meeting.
Minister Bozhinovska was accompanied at the meeting by Goran Nikolovski, head of the Gas department and Nedim Rama, director of “NOMAGAS”, as part of the Macedonian delegation in Washington.
The discussions were focused on key topics for the country’s energy future, including diversification of oil and liquefied natural gas supply, possibilities for entry and increased presence of American oil companies in the Macedonian market, strengthening stability and competition, as well as enhancing energy security. Additionally, potential for further development of the energy sector through new investments and partnerships was considered.
Minister Bozhinovska emphasized that North Macedonia is open to new partnerships that will ensure supply security and will create more competitive market.
The meeting with „Chevron“ represents a significant step in positioning the country as a serious partner in the regional and global energy network, with a clear focus on long-term stability and strategic diversification.
