Bozhinovska meets with USAID in Washington: Investments in energy projects are crucial for the green transition

Investments in renewable energy sources, environmental protection, the benefits of the green energy scenario, and the impact of climate change were the focus of the meeting between the Minister of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources, Sanja Bozhinovska, and Erin Elizabeth McKee, USAID Assistant Administrator for Europe and Eurasia. The meeting, held during Bozhinovska’s working visit to the U.S. and also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning Izet Mexhiti, highlighted USAID’s commitment to implementing projects of public interest.

"We discussed the country’s potential to launch new initiatives and projects that will help us more easily move toward the green transition and reduce carbon dioxide emissions. Political stability is crucial in creating an environment to attract foreign investments. We exchanged similar views on the need for continued cooperation in addressing environmental challenges, as well as supporting green initiatives that will contribute to sustainable development and environmental protection in the Southeast Europe region," emphasized Bozhinovska.

She recently held a working meeting with a USAID delegation led by Jerry Dible, USAID Representative for Macedonia, where important strategic priorities were shared, focusing on the modernization of energy capacities and mapping future cooperation projects.
