The minister of energy, mining and mineral resources, Sanja Bozhinovska, officially opened the 13th MAKO CIGRE conference today—a key event for the country’s power sector that brings together academic and industry professionals to exchange ideas, innovations and practical solutions. Bozhinovska opened the conference as President of the Honorary Board, reaffirming the trust and continuous cooperation between the Ministry and the organization.
In her speech, the minister emphasized that the conference is a platform for debate on the latest reforms and achievements in the energy sector. She highlighted that the effort, creativity, and dedication of engineers are the true driving force of the progress in the field.
Bozhinovska noted that despite the growing role of artificial intelligence in analysis and simulations, nothing can replace the human potential and expertise of the professionals:
“AI can assist, but it cannot replace the creative mind, experience and the passion of the engineers who shape every aspect of the energy sector”, Bozhinovska stated.
Special attention was given to young engineers and students as to the future of the sector:
“Your energy and engagement are the foundation of long-term development in energy”, Bozhinovska emphasized.
The Minister reaffirmed the Ministry’s priorities:
- Ensuring energy stability and security;
- Increasing the share of renewable sources such as solar, wind and geothermal energy;
- Modernizing grid infrastructure with digital and smart systems;
- Supporting investments through predictable regulation and public-private partnerships;
- Developing human capital through education and professional training;
- Strengthened regional and international cooperation.
“In times of profound change—decarbonization, digitalization, decentralization and market integration—forums like this are invaluable. Let this conference be the beginning of new initiatives, strengthened projects and lasting coordination among all stakeholders”, Bozhinovska concluded in her speech to participants.
The event gathered experts from industry, academia and young engineers and the Ministry will continue to provide support and dialogue with all stakeholders in the sector.
With regards,
Ministry of energy, mining and mineral resources
