The minister of energy, mining and mineral resources, Sanja Bozhinovska signed Memorandum for cooperation with the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the „Ss. Cyril and Methodius“University in Skopje, with the aim of strengthening the cooperation among institutions, opening new possibilities for the students and improving the practical teaching process. The document was signed by the minister Bozhinovska and the dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Zlatko Petreski.
The Memorandum creates conditions for student internships at the Ministry, joint participation in projects, as well as organizing workshops, trainings and conferences.
Additionally, the document paves the way for long-term cooperation in the fields of energy, mechanical engineering and innovation as well as bigger involvement of the students in the processes that shape the future of the energy sector.
“Our shared goal is for young engineers to gain as much real experience even during the studies. The doors of the Ministry are open to them-through internships, projects and dialogue we want to create generations which will be ready to respond to the challenges of the energy future”, minister Bozhinovska stressed.
The dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Prof. Dr. Zlatko Petreski emphasized the importance of such step, noting that this is strong impulse for the faculty and for the students, who will now have more opportunities for practical upgrade of their knowledge.
On the occasion of the start of the academic year, a mini academic session was held at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, whereas the minister Bozhinovska had the chance to meet and discuss with the students. The students shared their expectations from the studies and what they would like to see improved in the practical part of the teaching process and how institutions can help them integrate more easily into the real labor market.
The students shared ideas and suggestions, while the minister emphasized the readiness of the Ministry to actively provide more practical possibilities, internship and participation in projects.
She encouraged them to be active and to use each space they are being offered for practical knowledge, but to also express their ideas and expectations.
„Your voice matters-you are the future drivers of energy and industrial development, and our task is to give you space to grow and create“, Bozhinovska pointed out.
Minister Bozhinovska expressed particular satisfaction with the fact that at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, an increasing number of young women see their future there choosing engineering fields. She emphasized that these examples prove that the stereotypes in education and the professions are being overcome and young women are more active in the area of technology and energy. „I am especially pleased that more and more young women decide to become part of the mechanical engineering and energy-it is a strong signal that the future is in the hands of new generations who will bring fresh energy and equal perspectives”, the minister stressed.
With this Memorandum, the Ministry and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering open new chapter in the joint cooperation, which should result in strong support for education, innovations and sustainable development in the country.
The Ministry of energy, mining and mineral resources is consistently building cooperation with the academic community because investing in young professionals is most important and only through such engagement we can retain young engineers in the country and build new generation of experts that will move the energy forward.
In addition to the Memorandum with the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, the Ministry has already established partnership with the Faculty of electrical engineering and information technologies (FEIT), Faculty of computer science and engineering (FINKI), as well as with the University „Goce Delcev“ in Shtip. Through these cooperations, conditions for gaining practical knowledge of students are being created, as well as possibilities for research and direct involvement in development projects.
With regards,
Ministry of energy, mining and mineral resources
