Strengthening the Energy Partnership – Bozhinovska Meets with Hungarian Minister of Energy in Budapest

The Minister of Energy, Mining, and Mineral Resources, Sanja Bozhinovska, during her visit to Budapest—where the Second Intergovernmental Session between the governments of North Macedonia and Hungary took place—held a bilateral meeting with the Hungarian Minister of Energy, Csaba Lantos.

 

The meeting was also attended by Károly Mátrai, CEO of MVM Group, and Péter Holicza, Deputy State Secretary, who presented perspectives for advancing energy cooperation between the two countries.

 

The discussions focused on opportunities for strengthening the energy partnership, infrastructure connectivity, and ensuring energy stability. Both sides emphasized the importance of further cooperation in the fields of renewable energy, gas infrastructure, and regional energy integration.

 

Minister Bozhinovska highlighted that this partnership with Hungary is an example of how strategic cooperation can deliver concrete results—from improving energy efficiency to increasing interconnectivity and developing innovative energy solutions.

 

She also underlined the commitment of the Government of North Macedonia to a stable and secure energy system through diversification of energy sources and modernization of infrastructure. Hungary expressed readiness to support the energy transition processes and enhance the interconnection of energy markets.

 

The meeting reaffirmed the strong bilateral relations and partnership in the energy sector, with a clear direction toward joint projects that will bring mutual benefits.
