The Minister of Energy, Mining, and Mineral Resources, Sanja Bozhinovska, and the Director of the State Statistical Office, Dr. Dejan Stankov, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation today, which sets the foundation for joint activities and initiatives in the fields of energy, mining, and mineral resources. The memorandum reflects the commitment of both institutions to improve data and policies and support economic and energy development in the country.
The goal of this memorandum is to establish a framework for cooperation between the two institutions to ensure efficient, relevant, and accurate statistical data for policy creation and strategic planning.
"By signing this memorandum, we are laying the groundwork for long-term and productive cooperation that will result in improved data, analyses, and efficiency in the processes driving energy and the economy," emphasized Minister Bozhinovska.
Director Stankov added that the memorandum represents a significant step toward enhancing statistical data in the energy sector, which is crucial for informed decision-making and monitoring trends.
Both institutions will closely cooperate in data and information exchange to ensure updated and accurate statistical data for the energy and mining sectors, including production, consumption, and energy export, as well as relevant data on renewable energy sources. They will conduct joint analyses to identify trends and challenges in these sectors to improve energy efficiency and sustainability. Relevant statistical data will also be provided to formulate energy policies and strategies in the fields of mining and mineral resources, contributing to the economic development of the country.
This cooperation will enable a better understanding of the country’s energy needs and resources, which is crucial for planning and implementing energy projects and initiatives. Additionally, it will promote transparency and data availability to the public, fostering greater trust in the institutions and their activities.
