The Minister of Energy, Mining, and Mineral Resources, Sanja Bozhinovska, held a meeting with the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to North Macedonia, Mr. Jaroslav Ludva, accompanied by the Head of the Economic-Consular Department, Mr. Květoslav Sulek.
During the meeting, they discussed opportunities for expanding cooperation in the energy sector and agreed on specific actions to implement two of Minister Bozhinovska’s initiatives: holding a joint ministerial session from both countries in various sectors to enhance bilateral relations, and the initiative to introduce a direct flight line between Skopje and Prague.
Minister Bozhinovska and Ambassador Ludva will push for signing memorandums of cooperation in various areas at the session and explore specific activities to deepen economic and energy relations. Additionally, it was proposed that representatives from the Macedonian business community be included in the delegation to establish partnerships with Czech companies.
Minister Bozhinovska emphasized the importance of direct connectivity between the two countries and announced her satisfaction with the strong support from the Ambassador for the direct flight line initiative.
"I’m especially pleased that the Ambassador of the Czech Republic in North Macedonia, Mr. Ludva, has supported my initiative for a direct flight line between Skopje and Prague. With our joint effort, this idea is on track to be realized, and in the coming months, a regular flight line will be established, which will contribute to facilitating cooperation in trade, business, and cultural exchange. This will lay the foundation for new partnerships and investments," said Bozhinovska.
The Minister and Ambassador also informed that, in addition to the Skopje-Prague direct flight, the possibility of introducing a seasonal line Prague-Ohrid is being considered to promote tourism and raise awareness of Ohrid as a destination of interest for Czech tourists.
This meeting represents a significant step forward in building strong bilateral relations and opening new prospects for cooperation between the Czech Republic and North Macedonia, benefiting the citizens and economies of both countries.
