The minister of energy, mining and mineral resources, Sanja Bozinovska had a bilateral meeting with Ms. Maria Tripodi, deputy minister of foreign affairs and international cooperation of the Republic of Italy on the margins of the "Italy – North Macedonia" Business Forum, which was held today in Skopje.
Mutual satisfaction from the increasingly economic and political cooperation between the two countries was expressed at the meeting, especially in the field of energy, whereas significant interest from Italian companies in investing in green and sustainable technologies is being demonstrated.
Minister Bozinovska informed her interlocutor about the current projects being implemented by the Ministry, as well as about the new opportunities for foreign investments in renewable energy sources, energy infrastructure and energy storage. She emphasized that North Macedonia is becoming a stable and predictable partner for large energy projects, with a clear regulatory framework and ambitious goals in the energy transition.
Ms. Tripodi expressed support for the energy reforms being implemented by the country and an interest in deepening bilateral cooperation through specific projects and partnerships, both at the institutional and business level.
The two interlocutors agreed that energy represents a strategic field for further connecting North Macedonia and Italy, with the possibility of joint projects in the context of regional connectivity, the transition to clean sources and the development of a modern energy grid.
