Ministry of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources and Customs Administration Signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.
The Ministry of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources and the Customs Administration have officially signed a Memorandum of Cooperation, strengthening coordination and data exchange regarding the export and import procedures of mineral resources, petroleum products, biomass, and other energy sources. This cooperation will enable better control and efficient monitoring of the transport of these resources, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
The Memorandum was signed by the Minister of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources, Sanja Bozhinovska, and the Director of the Customs Administration, Boban Nikolovski. The document provides for regular data exchange every three months, as well as communication as needed to ensure timely information on export-import procedures and potential irregularities.
"With this Memorandum, we are strengthening the institutional capacity for supervision and control in the energy and mining sector. Transparency in export-import procedures is crucial for economic stability and legal certainty, and this partnership with the Customs Administration enables greater efficiency and coordination," stated Minister Bozhinovska.
Through the new mechanism for monitoring and data exchange, controls over concessionaires and entities operating in the energy sector are expected to be strengthened, while also preventing illegal activities in this field. Additionally, a permanent reporting system between the two institutions will be established to ensure compliance with legal procedures and regulations.
"The exchange of information and enhanced cooperation are key in the fight to completely suppress crime, ensure greater protection of society, and increase revenue collection for the Budget. In this way, we are taking a comprehensive approach to prevent any attempt of criminal activity during the import and export of energy and mineral resources," said Boban Nikolovski, Director of the Customs Administration.
The Ministry of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources remains committed to improving the regulatory framework in the energy sector and strengthening inter-institutional cooperation for greater transparency and accountability.
Respectfully,
Ministry of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources
