Within the briefing dedicated to monitoring progress in the implementation of the Reform agenda, held in the Government, at which the Government members, the EU ambassadors and representatives of the international community attended, a detailed overview of the results so far and the future priorities in key reform areas were presented.
The minister of energy, mining and mineral resources, Sanja Bozhinovska addressed at the event, pointing out the activities and results of the Ministry in the areas of just transition, market integration and advancement of energy policy in accordance with European standards.
The minister informed that the governance structures envisioned in the Roadmap for just transition are fully functional and that the Annual Implementation plan for 2026, aligned with the Government’s strategic documents and investment priorities, has been successfully adopted.
Particular accent was placed on the adoption of the new Energy law, through which the country has taken a significant step toward full alignment with the Energy Community’s Electricity Integration Package, as well as on the progress in preparing the bylaws by the transmission system operator AD MEPSO.
The minister, in her address, also emphasized the institutional readiness of the operators for the practical implementation of the European market mechanisms, as well as the international recognition through the membership in Italian Working Border Table.
Regarding the social dimension, it was highlighted that the Ministry is actively implementing measures to protect consumers from vulnerable categories, with an adopted methodology for measuring energy poverty and secured support for thousands of households.
Additionally, the minister reported on the adoption of the Three-year Renovation plan for central Government buildings. The results achieved, as noted, clearly confirm the institutions’ commitment to a successful energy transition, market integration and sustainable development, in the interest of the citizens and the economy.
As Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski announced, the cycle of meetings/briefings with the representatives of EU member states residing in our country will be regularly held so that the international representatives can be informed about the steps taken in implementing the Reform agenda.
The Ministry of energy, mining and mineral resources will continue with the responsible and transparent implementation of reforms, in close cooperation with the Government, institutions and international partners to secure safe, modern and just energy system.
