The Ministry of energy, mining and mineral resources is introducing a modern digital system and a specialized drone for supervision and monitoring of the concessions for mineral resources, solar energy and wind installations.
The new technology enables precise monitoring of exploitation of mineral wealth, as well as verification of the exact coordinates and infrastructure of solar panels and the measuring towers of wind parks. In this way, the Ministry strengthens transparency and the responsible use of natural resources.
The new system strengthens the inspection oversight, allowing inspectors to carry out reviews without being physically present on-site. The drone provides faster response, shorter time for control and seamless monitoring of field activities, enables more detailed tracking of concessionaires’ operations and significantly reducing the risk of misuse.
„With the introduction of the digital system and the drone, we are advancing and strengthening the inspection control. We have created the possibility for modern and efficient supervision, which ensures that concessions are used responsibly and according to the law”, minister Sanja Bozhinovska emphasized.
The employees of the Ministry who will manage the drone have passed specialized training for its use and for the proper interpretation of data obtained for remote observation. This ensures professional, precise and modern supervision, aligned with the highest standards.
The use of the drones is already part of standard practice in developed countries, especially for mapping, inspection oversight and monitoring of energy and natural resources. With this innovation, the Ministry follows global practice and advances the modernization and efficiency in resource managment.
The Ministry remains committed to ensuring high standards of transparency and responsible management of natural resources, aimed at sustainable economic development.
