The minister of energy, mining and mineral resources, Sanja Bozhinovska held a working meeting with the ambassador of the Slovak Republic, Iveta Hricová, aimed at enhancing political relations and opening new possibilities for cooperation between the two countries.
The discussions focused on the existing possibilities in the energy sector, the transformation of energy systems and the use of Slovak experience in the green technologies and the regional energy planning. The interlocutors exchanged views on the ongoing processes, the regional dynamics and the pathways for further institutional rapprochement.
„Our focus is a stable energy system, a modern approach to reforms and partnerships that move the country forward. Slovakia is an important friend and interlocutor in these processes, and the two countries have significant space for a higher level of cooperation”, minister Bozhinovska emphasized.
Ambassador Hricová greeted the dynamics of the reforms and highlighted the readiness to continue the communication and deepen cooperation in various areas related to the energy transition, modernization and the digital development.
During the conversation it was mentioned that at the beginning of next year, a visit by a joint government delegation is planned, during which talks between North Macedonia and Slovakia will continue at the governmental and institutional levels, including energy and investment topics. Minister Bozhinovska will be part of the joint government delegation, which will be welcomed by a high-level state delegation from Slovakia. The meeting will be dedicated to discussions on energy cooperation.
The Ministry views today’s meeting as another step in building stable and modern partnership between the two countries-a partnership based on European values, mutual trust and shared interests of the citizens.
