The minister of energy, mining and mineral resources, Sanja Bozhinovska, held a meeting with third-year students from the “Gjorgji Dimitrov” Gymnasium in Skopje, whose work and creativity are already leaving an impression at the national level.
The students Marija Tashevska, Jasemin Demirovska, and Angela Ristovska, together with their teacher Marina Ivanova, within their “Speaking and Writing” subject produced a documentary film dedicated to the Macedonian ruby – a topic that raises important questions about the natural and mineral wealth of our country.
Their film was presented at the national festival for amateur films, organized by Narodna Tehnika, where it won a silver award in a competition of around 40 films – an achievement that reflects their research spirit and genuine curiosity.
Minister Bozhinovska greeted their initiative, emphasizing that examples like this prove that young people have the potential to recognize, explore, and promote the values of their own country.
“I am especially pleased that young people choose to speak about topics directly related to our natural resources and wealth. The Macedonian ruby is not just a mineral – it is part of our identity and a true treasure. Such initiatives should be encouraged and supported, because knowledge and awareness begin precisely with the younger generations”, minister Bozhinovska stated.
During the meeting, the need for greater education and involvement of young people in topics related to energy, mining, and the sustainable use of natural resources was highlighted, as well as the importance of their active participation in shaping future policies.
The Ministry of energy, mining and mineral resources remains open to supporting such initiatives, which not only promote creativity but also strengthen awareness of the valuable resources our country possesses.
