Marked with a strong message that the future of the state is built with knowledge, innovations and support of the young people, the National competition for best business concept for green innovations for secondary schools 2026/2027 was held today in Kavadarci, under the patronage of the Ministry of energy, mining and mineral resources.
The minister of energy, mining and mineral resources, Sanja Bozhinovska attended the final event and presented the recognitions and the awards to the most successful secondary school teams, whose ideas offered concrete solutions for a sustainable future, energy efficiency, renewable sources of energy and circular economy.
This year, 42 secondary school teams from across the country participated in the competition with their innovative green concepts, and the top eight teams qualifying for today’s final in Kavadarci.
GrowHub from DSU RCSOO „Nikola Karev“–Strumica has won the first prize, while the team Pepper Waste from SOU „Josif Josifovski“–Gevgelija won the second. The third place was shared among the teams Eco Charge Bike from SUGSG „Rade Jovchevski-Korchagin“–Skopje and Malesh Air from OSU „Aco Ruskovski“–Berovo.
Minister Bozhinovska, in her speech said that the support for young people must not be merely declarative, but a real and continuous state policy.
„These young people demonstrate that North Macedonia has knowledge, creativity and potential for modern development. Our responsibility as institutions is to create conditions for these ideas to grow into real opportunities, and for the young people to see their future here-at home. The investment in young people, their ideas and their innovations is an investment in the future of the country”, Bozhinovska emphasized.
She highlighted that the green transition is no longer a matter of choice, but a necessity, and that young people are the key driving force behind this change.
The competition, which represents one of the most significant platforms for youth entrepreneurship and green innovations in the country for more than 18 years is organized by the Center for green innovations within the Faculty of Mechanical engineering – Skopje, in cooperation with the National center for innovation development and entrepreneural learning.
Through its patronage and support, the Ministry of energy, mining and mineral resources continues to clearly demonstrate its strategic commitment–supporting young people, investing in knowledge and creating conditions for North Macedonia to become a country whereas the innovation thrives and young people stay and create.
