Today’s meeting between minister Sanja Bozinovska and students from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies (FEIT) marked the official start of the summer internship program at the Ministry of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources.
This is the first group of students from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies (FEIT), who will carry out their professional internship within the Ministry and its’ constituent bodies this summer.
"This is not just an internship, but a first step towards retaining young people in our country. We are opening the doors of the Ministry to your ideas, enthusiasm and knowledge. I am convinced that this experience will be mutually beneficial – you will learn from us, but we will also learn from you. We see our energy future precisely in the new generations of engineers", minister Bozinovska said at the meeting with the interns.
This program is implemented within the framework of the Ministry's initiative to open institutions for young people - in order to offer them real opportunities for professional development, practical experience and inclusion in the processes of creating and implementing public policies in energy, mining and mineral resources management.
These are students who are in the final phase of their studies and who have expressed interest in being involved in the work of the Ministry, through specific tasks, mentoring and active participation in the preparation of analyses, reports, presentations and other documents in the field. The internship will take place during the summer and each student will have the opportunity to work in the departments according to their professional orientation, including energy, renewable sources, energy efficiency and other related topics.
This activity is a result of the recently signed Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry and FEIT, which established an institutional framework for supporting young professionals in technical and engineering sciences, as part of a broader commitment to prevent the outflow of young professionals from the country.
At the meeting with the students, minister Sanja Bozinovska emphasized the importance of this initiative and emphasized that young people are one of the greatest potentials we have as a country.
“With this step, we are starting something that has been missing for a long time – a real, essential connection between educational institutions and public policy makers. We are opening the doors of the Ministry to you – young people with ideas, knowledge and a fresh perspective. You are the generation that will lead the energy sector tomorrow and it is important that you start understanding its functioning today. Our goal is not only to give you the opportunity for practical experience, but also to motivate you to see your future here – in your country, working for its progress”, minister Bozinovska stated.
The student internship program is part of the Ministry's new initiative to prioritize young professionals in the energy sector. The Ministry announces that such programs will continue in the future with new groups of students, as well as expanding cooperation with other technical faculties and educational institutions. This lays the foundation for building generations of domestic experts who will be directly involved in the processes of energy transition, innovation and development of critical infrastructure in the country.
