The Ministry of energy, mining and mineral resources has published a public announcement for financial support for consumed electricity for vulnerable consumers in 2025.
The announcement is published in accordance with the Program for the protection of vulnerable energy consumers for 2025, published in the “Official Gazette of the Republic of North Macedonia” No. 154/25, by which the Ministry provided a total of 42,3 million denars in financial support.
The right for support is granted to households with one or more persons with severe or profound intellectual disabilities, with the most severe physical disabilities, a completely blind person and a deaf person, beneficiaries of a special disability allowance over 26 years of age and regardless of age, in accordance with Article 44 of the Law on social protection, whose total net income subject to taxation on a monthly basis in accordance with the Law on personal Income tax of household members in 2024 did not exceed the amount of:
· 24,500.00 denars for a single-member household,
· 42,000.00 denars for a household with two members,
· 60,000.00 denars for a household with three members and
· 80,000.00 denars for a household with four or more members, not counting the special allowance in accordance with the Law on social protection.
When calculating the total household income that is subject to monthly taxation in accordance with the Personal Income Tax Law, the disability allowance is not taken into account when calculating the total net household income. A vulnerable consumer from point 1 of this public announcement is not considered a person who uses the right to civil or military disability allowance.
Persons with the categories from point 1 of this announcement are granted financial support through a reduction in the monthly electricity bill in the amount of 1000 denars per month, calculated from the date of submission of the application, for a period of 12 months.
In total, the following amounts will be distributed:
· 2,300,000.00 denars of the total funds will be allocated to households whereas a person/persons with severe or profound intellectual disability live/s,
· 19,000,000.00 denars of the total funds will be allocated to households whereas a person/persons with the most severe physical disability live/s,
· 9,000,000.00 denars of the total funds will be allocated to households whereas a completely blind person lives and
· 12,000,000.00 denars of the total funds will be allocated to households whereas a completely deaf person lives.
No support is available for persons with civil or military disabilities allowance or placed in institutions for longer than 30 days.
The deadline for applying after the public announcement is 30 days from the date of publication of the public announcement.
The application is submitted with a completed form available in the Ministry's archive or at www.energy.gov.mk, where all other documents that must be submitted with the application are listed.

The commissions consisting of three members will review the applications, conduct checks through the competent institutions and propose solutions to the Minister. The support starts from the month following the publication of the list of beneficiaries and is calculated on the monthly electricity bill.
Two consecutive unpaid bills lead to the cancellation of the decision for support.
