The Minister of Energy, Mining, and Mineral Resources, Sanja Bozhinovska, held a working meeting with Valentina Superti, Director for the Western Balkans (ENEST.B), Directorate-General for Neighborhood and Enlargement (DG NEAR), European Commission.
The meeting was initiated by Director Superti to discuss and exchange views on priorities in the energy sector, opportunities to deepen cooperation with the European Commission, and to identify new joint projects and mechanisms to support the reform processes.
The conversation focused on potential opportunities for financial and technical support from the EC, particularly in the areas of energy infrastructure development, increasing the use of renewable energy sources, digitizing the industry, and enhancing the legislative framework in line with European standards.
Minister Bozhinovska emphasized the importance of European support for the transformation of the energy sector, while Director Superti highlighted the European Commission's commitment to promoting structural reforms and economic development in the region.
The meeting was deemed constructive and opened the door for future intensive communications and concrete steps towards strengthening the partnership with the European Commission.
