Bozhinovska among the students at „Mihajlo Pupin“: Energy has a future only with professionally prepared young staff

The minister of energy, mining and mineral resources, Sanja Bozhinovska had a working visit today at the Secondary Electrotechnical School Mihajlo Pupin“– Skopje, whereas she was acquainted with the work and the opportunities that this vocational school offers for professional education in the electrotechnical sector and energy

During the visit, the minister was presented with the school’s technical equipment, including modern classrooms and laboratories for teaching energy facilities, informatics, automation and renewable energy sources, which are of key importance for practical vocational education

Minister Bozhinovska, at the meeting with the students, professors and the director of the school, emphasized that vocational education is an important pillar for development of a qualified workforce in the energy sector, especially in conditions of transformation of the energy system toward greater energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy sources. She highlighted that the need for young and professionally trained staff in energy and electrotechnics is growing, and that the state undertakes efforts to connect education with the labor market, through development of practical skills and cooperation with industry

Leading dialogue with the students, the minister also addressed the importance of innovation, energy efficiency and the possibilities for future careers in the sector, encouraging young people to follow possibilities for development and professional growth. She also pointed out the significance of cooperation among education, state institutions and the business sector in providing concrete opportunities for practical training and future employment

The Secondary Electrotechnical schoolMihajlo Pupin is considered as one of the most advanced vocational schools in the country, fully renovated and equipped with modern infrastructure that offers excellent conditions for creating new staff in the electrotechnical and energy sector. It is the first school to have its own electricity production through photovoltaic panels, as well as specialized classrooms for innovation and practical teaching, whereas students gain real skills applicable to the labor market.  The school actively participates in numerous competitions and projects and cooperates with related educational institutions from across the region, building a network of knowledge and exchange of experience. Minister Bozhinovska told the students that she expects them to demonstrate their knowledge and potential in state energy companies and institutions, expressing hope that they will remain in the country and contribute to the development of Macedonian energy.

The visit contributed to deepening the dialogue on improving vocational profiles and increasing interest in education that directly prepares students for the challenges of the modern energy sector.
