Bozhinovska-Kawahara: Strengthening the cooperation for secure and sustainable energy future

The minister of energy, mining and mineral resources, Sanja Bozhinovska had a working meeting today with the Ambassador of Japan in North Macedonia, Setsuko Kawahara.

Representatives of the Japanese corporation ITOCHU, one of the leading and most renowned companies in Japan, known for its investment activities and expertise in energy and industrial projects were present at the meeting. ITOCHU is a serious company with a global presence, showing interest for the Macedonian market and the country’s potential for green energy transformation.

The discussion focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in the energy sector, as well as joint projects related to the green transition.

The minister Bozhinovska emphasized that our country is committed to taking concrete steps toward a sustainable, secure and inclusive energy future. She assessed the support from the Japanese side as significant for ensuring energy independence and sustainability.

Both sides confirmed the need to strengthen the position of North Macedonia on the global energy map as a credible and reliable partner in the worldwide transition to green energy. In conclusion, it was agreed that cooperation in the field of energy reforms and infrastructure projects will continue in the future.
