Energy efficiency was the focus of the meeting held today between the minister of energy, mining and mineral resources, Sanja Bozhinovska with the delegation of EBRD in the country. The EBRD representative in North Macedonia, Fatih Turkmenoglu and the head of Infrastructure Europe-EBRD, Elena Gordeeva, attended the meeting.
The main point of the meeting was placed on the implementation of energy efficiency in public facilities in the country, which will contribute to a stable and sustainable energy system.
At the meeting, the minister of energy, mining and mineral resources, Bozhinovska highlighted Ministry’s commitment to the timely fulfillment of obligations requiring that each year at least 3 % of the total useful floor area of public buildings should be renovated, with energy efficiency measures being a mandatory and integral part of every reconstruction.
The Ministry of energy, mining and mineral resources, as minister Bozhinovska emphasized, as the holder of this strategic reform, works intensively on securing financial resources to fulfill the obligations arising from the Reform agenda.
The implementation of energy efficiency represents a major step forward in reducing energy consumption, improving conditions in institutions and significantly lowering harmful gas emissions–with direct benefits for the citizens and the state.
