Ministry of Energy, Mining, and Mineral Resources Announces Public Call for Financial Support for Electricity Consumption in 2025 for Vulnerable Energy Consumers

1,000 denars per month for electricity: Who is eligible and how to apply? – Ministry of Energy announces public call.

The Ministry of Energy, Mining, and Mineral Resources has announced a public call for financial support for electricity consumption in 2025, aimed at individuals in the category of vulnerable energy consumers. This measure is part of the Program for the Protection of Vulnerable Energy Consumers for 2025 (“Official Gazette of the Republic of North Macedonia” no. 34/25), aimed at providing direct support to citizens who need it the most.

Who is eligible for financial support? The financial support is intended for the following categories of citizens:

  • Households with one or more children with disabilities, recipients of a special allowance under the Law on the Protection of Children, whose total net income in 2024 does not exceed the following monthly thresholds:

    • 42,000 denars for a two-member household

    • 60,000 denars for a three-member household

    • 80,000 denars for a four-member or larger household

  • Foster parents who take care of one or more individuals in their household and receive a foster care allowance under the Social Protection Law, with their total net monthly income not exceeding the specified threshold based on household size (ranging from 42,000 to 160,000 denars).

Amount and Duration of Support The Ministry will provide financial support through a reduction of the monthly electricity bill by 1,000 denars, starting from the date of application submission. Support will be provided for 12 months or until the allocated funds are exhausted, as per the program.

Individuals who already receive guaranteed minimum assistance and energy allowances under the Social Protection Law, as well as elderly individuals receiving financial support under the Law on Social Security for the Elderly, are not covered by this measure.

Application Procedure The deadline for submitting applications is 30 days from the publication of the public call. Interested individuals must submit a completed application form (Form 1 or Form 2, depending on the category) available at the Ministry’s archive or on the official website: www.ea.gov.mk
