Under the initiative of the minister Sanja Bozinovska, the Ministry of energy, mining and mineral resources has established an Advisory Body composed of prominent names from the academic community, experts and intellectuals with extensive experience in the field of energy, mining and sustainable development.
This body has a consultative function and will provide expert support and opinion in the process of creating and improving energy and mining policies, with a focus on the national energy transition, improving the regulation, the investment framework and the security of energy and mineral raw materials.
The purpose of the Advisory Body is to provide additional expertise and a broader perspective in making important strategic decisions and reforms. The members of the body will also have a role in analyzing key challenges, developing proposals and indicating good practices, as well as in encouraging public and scientific debate on the development of these sectors.
“We established this body so that the Ministry would have continuous access to expert knowledge and critical thought, grounded on scientific and practical foundations. I believe that this approach will contribute to better quality policies and more sustainable solutions for the future of energy and mining in the country”, minister Bozinovska emphasized.
The members of the Advisory Body held the first constituent session. They welcomed the idea and assessed it as a significant and visionary step, emphasizing that they appreciate the initiative of the minister who recognized that their expertise can not only help the state, but also advance and raise it to an even higher quality level.
At the first meeting, many ideas emerged for innovations in the sectors and improvement of the situation. The Advisory Body will meet at regular meetings, but also as needed in focused thematic expert groups for individual projects or specific needs.
All members of the Advisory Body stated that they are at the disposal of the state, without any compensation, whenever their participation is needed.
In the first phase, the members of the body will assist the Ministry in drafting the by-laws that should further regulate the extensive new Energy Law.
